welsby (Photo) will add over 23 years of industry experience to the company. Prior to joining Ignition, he held several leadership positions at retail financial services technology companies. He served as global head of product and strategy for software provider Bravura Solutions and deputy managing director at EQ Investors.
As CCO of Ignition in Europe, he will be responsible for business strategy and business development across marketing, sales, product development and customer service activities.
Australian Ignition Advice launched in the UK in May 2021 and was appointed by wealth manager M&G Wealth to offer the firm’s new digital advice offering for its advisers and clients at the time.
M&G Wealth and Ignition Advice’s hybrid advice service went live for “existing wealth clients” in December 2021, with decumulation clients being its initial focus.
The mobile-focused proposition will expand its reach to “target a rapidly growing group of young and affluent consumers who seek to execute investment decisions, based on available and sourced information, accumulating other assets without the need for advice regulated through human interaction,” according to M&G Wealth.
The launch came after Ignition closed a £14.2m B funding round, led by Morgan Stanley.
The company was founded in 2014 and has teams based in Sydney, Dublin and London.
