Disney appoints ex-Google VP as CTO of streaming – Digital TV Europe

Disney Streaming has announced the appointment of former Google technology pioneer Jeremy Doig as Chief Technology Officer.

Doig will lead the technology strategy for Disney’s DTC platforms, including Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+ and Star+. He will report directly to Michael Paull, president of Disney Streaming.

The director joins Google, where he worked for 18 years, most recently as vice president of engineering. During this time, he helped create new standards for online media, including new compression and streaming protocols for real-time and on-demand delivery.

In addition to nearly 20 years at Google, Doig has also worked at the BBC and The Multimedia Corporation.
