Creative Europe: European Commission launches special appeal for Ukraine
The European Commission is launching a special call for Ukraine under the Creative Europe 2023 annual work programme.
A total of €5 million will be allocated to support Ukrainian artists and cultural organizations in their own country or in any country participating in the Creative Europe programme, and to prepare for the post-war recovery of the Ukrainian cultural sector and of creation.
“Cultural expression and access to culture are essential elements of our lives. They help us cope with traumatic events, build individual and collective resilience and give us tools for mutual understanding,” said Mariya Gabriel, Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth. “I am very happy to know that we can contribute to help Ukrainians displaced by the war in Ukraine or in one of the countries participating in Creative Europe to have access to culture.
The special call will select three projects to be funded, managed by consortia created in countries associated with the Creative Europe programme, as well as Ukrainian organizations that will award sub-grants to small-scale initiatives implemented at the local level.
The application deadline is November 29, 2022.
